The Ministry of Commerce (MoCOM) plays a vital role to develop the national economy through trade. Its mission is to increase trade volume, to encourage private sector development in accordance with the market-oriented economic system, to expand market shares for Myanmar products in the world market through the collaboration with international organizations, to provide support for trade facilitation and To implement consumer rights and ensure products safety. Additionally, the Deputy Minister, Ministry of Commerce, has been serving as the chairperson of the Digital Trade and E-Commerce Development Sub-Committee, as the key sub-committee set up by the Digital Economy Development Committee (DEDC). The Ministry of Commerce is composed of the Minister Office, the Department of Trade, the Department of Consumer Affair and the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization.

Phandeeyar (“creation place”) is an innovation lab that is spearheading the use of technologyto accelerate change and development in Myanmar. Phandeeyar invests in local technologystartups, trains new entrepreneurs and builds the pool of tech talent. Phandeeyar also helpscivic and social entrepreneurs, CSOs and independent media use technology to increasetheir impact and runs a co-working space out of its 10,500 square foot space located in theheart of downtown Yangon.Phandeeyar offers hands-on and hands-off support for the portfolio startups as well asuprising new founders and startups all seasons, welcoming talented and like-mindedfounders to accelerate change in Myanmar Tech Ecosystem together. Moreover, theorganization has been providing human resources, financial resources and its network topromising Tech startups in Myanmar and enabling an environment for tech startups wouldbenefit long term Myanmar’s economic development.
